Greetings! You are almost at the Holiday finish line…keep plugging!
I want to take a brief moment of your time to share some exciting hiring news and let you know that following a competitive hiring process, the Board voted on Monday night to hire Mr. Edward Lavoie as an Assistant Principal at EHHS. As you know, Ed has served in this role on an interim basis since late July and we are thrilled to finalize this process and solidify the high school leadership team.
As a career East Hartford educator, Ed has served in multiple roles and in various capacities. Beginning his career at EHPS at the Middle School, Ed has faithfully served our kids as a Special Education teacher and Team Leader before being transferred to EHHS nine years ago. At the high school, Ed led the implementation on developing intervention programming for needy students, co-taught in a variety of subjects and assisted our administration with a variety of high impact projects. Ed has also been the successful coach of our Boys’ Basketball team, impressively taking our team to its first state final appearance in 68 years as well as maintaining an impressive team GPA of 3.5. Ed cares about kids, is an extremely hard worker and always willing to take on any challenge to help others succeed.
I am very happy to add Ed’s dependability, commitment to team and work ethic to be a member of our Hornet leadership team. We are very appreciative of his effort and work during the interim period and pleased that the Board has chosen to make this a permanent appointment. I look forward to Ed’s contributions to the high school team and the good work we know he will do!
Please join with me in congratulating Ed on this promotion!
