Description: This course satisfies the requirement for 9th grade social studies. Topics in World History and The History of Science will be explored and discussed.

World History I

Prerequisite: Required of all grade 9 students.
Description: World History I will focus on the contributions of early civilizations to human history and how the geographic environment influenced the growth of economic, governmental, and religious systems. Course content frequently is paralleled with the content of English I.

World History II

Prerequisite: Required of all grade 9 students.
Description: World History II continues the study of the development of civilizations begun in World History I. The medieval world and the emergence of modern nations in Asia, Africa and Europe will be focal points.
