Parents play an extremely important role at CIBA. In addition to supporting your CIBA student, ensuring that s/he gets enough sleep, budgets his/her time for assignments, and gets to school on time, we need parents to be involved in the decision-making processes at the school. As a school of choice, CIBA needs parent involvement. The best way to do this is through active participation in the CIBA Parent Advisory Council (PAC).

Benefits of attending PAC meetings: No specific skill set required – your opinions, questions and interest are needed!
- Obtain first-hand information about CIBA from the Principal or Assistant Principal
Learn about the special demands of the IB curriculum including grading, MYP, PP, DP, EE, IA, CAS and more
Build relationships with representatives from CIBA and the SAB (Student Advisory Board)
Participate in interesting conversations
And yes, we discuss and plan fundraising for the benefit of the CIBA community
Events funded by the PAC include:
Provide lanyards for the Freshman class at the MYP inauguration ceremony
Provide refreshments at the Sophmore class PP showcase
Provide lanyards for the Junior class at the DP inauguration ceremony
Provide student designed tee shirts for the Senior class and contribute towards the graduation ceremony refreshments for graduates, staff, family and friends
Provide refreshments for the school wide Awards Ceremony
Host a Staff Appreciation breakfast
Provide themed basket for the raffle at the annual Abelon Walk fundraiser
Host an end of the year Staff Luncheon
The PAC meets in the first floor College Research Room on the following Tuesdays: September 12, December 12, 2017 and February 13 and May 8, 2018. Meetings begin at 6:30 pm and usually end around 7:30 pm.
Any student whose parent attends a PAC meeting receives a dress down day the following Friday.

The CIBA Parent Advisory Council (PAC) meets on the following Tuesdays: September 12, December 12, 2017 and February 13, May 8, 2018 from 6:30 PM – approximately 7:30 PM. in the first floor College Research Room.
Your ideas, opinions, questions and interest are valued – no specific skillset needed! All parents and guardians are welcome and urged to attend -- if you have a student at CIBA, you are automatically a member, there are no dues. Plus, as an added bonus, any student whose parent attends a PAC meeting receives a dress down day the following Friday.
The PAC's mission is to contribute to the positive academic and social experience for our students. At the PAC meetings, parents learn about the special demands of the IB curriculum, and discuss ways to support the school community. The meetings are interesting and fun and we try to keep them to one hour.
