The purpose of our program is to prepare each student to function mathematically in a technological and information-based society.  We believe that by having a solid foundation in mathematics, students will become responsible citizens who are able to make informed decisions that will impact both their personal and professional lives.

Program Goals

Students will explore the value and usefulness of mathematics in order to understand the impact that it has and continues to have on our lives.

Become Confident In One’s Own Ability

Students will participate in numerous and varied experiences that will help them to develop and trust in their own mathematical thinking.

Become a Mathematical Problem Solver

Students will use a variety of strategies to solve problems from a wide range of contexts independently and collaboratively.

Learn To Communicate

Through a variety of problem solving experiences, students will use the language of mathematics and be able to communicate their ideas and/or solutions which they have clarified, refined, and consolidated in order to support their claims.

Learn To Reason Mathematically
