What is an IB Education?

The IB Diploma Programme (DP) was developed in 1968 to provide a demanding and comprehensive education that would help students to comprehend and handle the complexity of our world while also equipping them with the skills and attitudes necessary to take responsible future action. People who are qualified to make the world a more equitable and peaceful place require an education that transcends disciplinary, cultural, national, and geographical borders.

What Makes Connevticut IB Academy Unique?

Because of its diversity, multiple awards, focus on service and the growth of each student, and established traditions, CIBA is unlike any other organization. CIBA's heart beats for its students, families, and staff. CIBA continues to achieve new heights with the help of the EHPS Board of Education and the EHPS Central Office staff. Based on indicators such as College Readiness, College Curriculum Breadth, Math and Reading Proficiency, Math and Reading Performance, Underserved Student Performance, and Graduation Rate, U.S. News and World Report named CIBA the #1 Best High School in the Hartford Metro Area and the #9 Best High School in Connecticut year. This honor not only recognizes the work of the whole CIBA team and families, but it also demonstrates CIBA's commitment and dedication to pupils.

The IB Diploma Curriculum is an academically challenging and balanced international education program with final examinations that prepares students aged 16 to 19 for university achievement and life beyond high school. It was created with kids' academic, social, emotional, and physical well-being in mind.
